This post is about hair. Well, it’s about the fact that I’m losing hair where I want to have hair, and gaining hair in places I definitely don’t need it. Just how cruel does the menopause need to be? It’s taking the piss now really.
Menopause hair problem No. 1. The hair on my head is thinning. Deep joy. Here are the things that helped me:
Kollo Liquid Collagen subscription service 14-day supply £29.87
I’ve mentioned this in other blogs before. You lose collagen as you age and these supplements have been working for me. I’ve noticed my skin is a bit dewier, my nails are stronger and even my hairdresser has noticed that my hair is thicker and in better condition. Just add the sachet to some water and drink once a day. It even tastes nice.

Silke Hair Wrap £50
I’m a sucker for this look, so there is a chance I’d buy this anyway, frankly the fact that this actually looks after your hair is almost surplus to requirements. The wrap protects your hair from friction while you sleep to prevent breakages, frizz and split ends. Sold. Comes in billions of colours too.

Loreal Wonder Water is normally £9.99 down to £5
This stuff doesn’t technically help grow your hair, but it is the bollocks nonetheless, so I thought it deserved a mention. After your shampoo, you put it on the ends for 8 seconds (very specific) and wash it out. My hair is fine and I have been dying it forever, so it’s brittle. When I get up in the morning, it’s like a bird’s nest and I can’t get my fingers through it. With this, I don’t even need to brush it. I can run my fingers through it all day long. I didn’t even need to style it the first day. If your hair is like mine – buy some. Buy some today.

Champo Pitta Growth Serum £34
I might add this into my routine too. It’s been getting rave reviews. All natural ingredients, vegan friendly and sustainably focused (according to the website). Although I’m not sure being sustainably focused is the same as being sustainable.

Menopause hair problem No. 2. My eyebrows have gone baldy in places.
Rapid Brow Eyebrow Enhancing Serum usually £37, down to £25.90
I used to have brows Frida Kahlo would have been jealous of. Not anymore. You put this on morning and night and watch your brows grow. Mine kinda did too. If I was any good at this blogging malarky I’d have had before and after pictures to prove it, but I was sceptical, so I didn’t take a before picture. I think I might need another tube to get my brows back to their former Frida Kahlo glory, but they are getting there.

Menopause Hair Problem No. 3. Erm, no nice way of saying it, unwanted facial hair. One day you catch sight of your face in the mirror and there is a huge hair on your chin. It wasn’t there the day before, how did it grow so quick, and why can’t it give some pointers to my brows for god’s sake? There are loads of ways to get rid of unwanted hair. Waxing, plucking etc. but I would also recommend keeping the following about your person, should you find yourself out and about when you spot the errant face pube.
JML Finishing Touch Flawless Face £19.99
It’s battery operated, looks like a lipstick and has a little light on it, so you see all the whiskers on your chinny chin chin. It comes in different colours and I think, they do a rechargeable version too.
