Summer Sales.

Now that the sales are in full swing, I thought a timely reminder about the ‘sales shopping regulations’ may be in order. On the off chance you’re getting a bit carried away. The regulations are as follows:

Before making the purchase…

  • You must be able to think of three existing outfits that you can wear the aforementioned purchase with. Two at a push. Alright, at least one.
  • Never ever EVER buy anything that doesn’t fit. That you’re going to “slim” into. You. Are. Kidding. Yourself. (I’m saying that as a friend!)
  • Do the fashion maths. If it’s expensive, work out how many times you’re going to wear it, so if it’s only like three times, then the fashion maths probably doesn’t add up. Unless it’s for a special occasion, in which case there is a good chance I might sign off.

I’ve broken all of these rules at some point or other, and all of those purchases are now on Depop.

Here is a little round-up of items that are on my sales wish list:

Cos Gathered Midi Dress was £79 down to £55.30

This is currently sold out in my size, but I check the website every day, in case it comes back in stock. Yes I am that sad.

Mango Orange leather bag was £119.99 now £79.99

I just love the shape of this. it also comes in both black and cream versions, which I would also love to buy.

ASOS Flatform sandals in tan. Were £29.99 now £16.50

I broke my ‘goes with everything and I can walk in them’ sandals last summer and I’ve been searching for a replacement ever since. These seem to be the closest thing, although I’m slightly worried about the buckle on the ankle – buckles there often rub (how do shoe designers not know this?)

I felt all the sales were a bit underwhelming this summer too be honest. With a lot of the things I had my eye on, not going in the sale. Here are a couple of things I’m hoping still might…

Jeffrey Campbell jelly sandals £44

I think these will be ace for holiday, so if they don’t go in the sale soon, I’m still going to make a purchase. They come in loads of colours too.

Zara striped dress £49.99

Also not in the sodding sale yet, but I’m ever the optimist. The buttons and belt look cheap but easily changed. It’s just an easy summer dress. Plus, it has pockets people, pockets. Why are pockets in dresses not a legal requirement? Maybe I’ll run for PM and have it as part of my manifesto.

That’s kinda it. Next up …packing for holiday. Have a top week.
