I’m going to start this post by telling you the sort of features I don’t like in an item of clothing:
- Frills
- Splits
- Asymmetric Hems
- Puff Sleeves
- Shoulder pads
- Lacy/boho blouses
- Linen
- Anything that looks like it was bought from a beach in Goa
- Blingy buttons
- Buttons for no reason
- Ditto zips
Basically, I don’t like fussy stuff. I like good tailoring and clean lines.
Which it makes it very curious that I love these. I’ve got to be honest, if these shoes had a willie there is a very good chance I’d marry them….
Uterque Satin Slingbacks with gem detail £125

Who cares if my time is evenly divided between working from home and trips to Morrisons. I could do the hoovering in them. It would be impossible to feel sad in these shoes.
They are a rip off of these from Amina Mauddi, but £600 cheaper. Incidentally, these also come in other colours.
Amina Muaddi Begum Satin Slingback Pumps £754 (they’re sold out anyway)

Whilst we’re admiring Uterque shoes. I’m loving these too.
Uterque Braided Heeled Sandals £100

Which aren’t a million miles away from these, but £1125 cheaper.
Bottega Veneta Padded Intrecciato Leather Mules £1,225

Although whilst we’re here. Look at these from Aspiga.
Aspiga Twist Strap Sandals £120

And finally, I love the colour of these.
Uterque Gathered Leather Vamp £100

Maybe some of these will go in the sale very soon? Watch this space.
I haven’t got any pictures of outfits I wore last week, as I’ve literally been at my desk or at the gym. I can assure you that neither of these looks are worth a photo. I’m off to Liverpool at the weekend, so there may be a photo opportunity there.
Have a good week.
We definitely have different styles! I love a puff sleeve, the Goa market vibe is a staple, gingham too has always been a favourite. But it’s the eponymous shoe where we truly part company. I can’t deal with a pointed toe, love a brogue and Doctor martens have been an integral part of my footwear since 1987. Also heels, I look like Minnie Mouse in them and as you may recall, broke my foot rather badly whilst dancing in a pair (bought reluctantly in a “I must grow up” moment)
At a party some years ago…

I love the way you dress. I just don’t like any of those things on me. Funny isn’t it? I remember you breaking your foot too. Nightmare. Why did you feel like you must grow up?
