God I’m bored. Bored of everything. Bored of being at home all the time, the weather, not being able to travel, not being able to see my friends and of generally being the glue that keeps the family together. There’s not much I can do about those things right now, but I can change what I wear. I’ve been living in wide leg trousers with an elasticated waist and a jumper. Oooh, exciting. Then I saw the knitted dress appear on my Instagram feed and I had a lightbulb moment.

I was intending to write about new season clothes this week, but I can’t sum up the enthusiasm.

I know I’m late to the party on the whole knitted dress trend, these have been around since the start of lockdown. What can I say, I’m a slow learner.

I ordered both the ASOS one and the grey Arket one in the end, to see which one is up to the job. I decided that I wanted a loose fit so that I could layer it. I thought it would work well a few different ways:

• With tights and DMs.
• With wide leg trousers or culottes
• Underneath a long belted cardigan.
• With jeans and trainers.

Which might bring me some joy, for a few minutes at least.

Whilst I was on the ASOS website, I also did my bit to save the planet, by buying these reusable makeup remover pads. They’re machine washable, no need to buy cotton pads anymore.

In other news, loads of brands are adding final reductions to their sale stock.
