Firstly, I must apologise for my crapness at not posting for ages. In my defence I’ve been sick, we got a puppy and probably a few other things happened too that distracted me. But I’m back now and I want to talk to you about sales shopping.
There are rules to shopping the sales, which I’ve mentioned before, but here they are again, in case you haven’t been taking notes (I will be testing you later):
- You must be able to think of three existing outfits that you can wear the sale item with. (Two outfits is also ok).
- Never ever EVER buy anything that doesn’t fit. That you’re going to “slim” in to. It. Just. Doesn’t. Happen.
- Do the fashion maths. If it’s expensive, but you’re going to wear it loads, that is fine. If it’s expensive and you’re going to wear it three times, then not so much.
- All of the above rules are breakable, apart from if it doesn’t fit.
Ok, so now you know how to navigates the sales, what is out there that’s worth having. Most of the sales have started already, apart from Next (usually mid July) and Hush (this Thursday), Rixo only seem to be on sale via Net-a-porter at the moment and Sezanne & Veja don’t really do sales.
This is what I’m going for/already bought/ may send back:

This will look ace walking the dog. Actually, god alone knows when I will ever get to wear this, but it was reduced to £50 and it will never go out of style. It’s dead flattering on. They come up big Ghost dresses, so go down at least one size.
Veja V10’s £115 now £81 (I also got an extra 10% off with code EXTRA10)

It’s rare to find Veja’s in a sale anywhere, but I did manage it. Again, these come up big, so go down one size from your usual. If you’re blessed with little feet then the kids versions go in the sale all the flipping time. Still waiting for these to arrive. These are defo for walking the dog. Who knew a dog would open up new shopping opportunites?
Come Thursday, this is what I’ll be going for from Hush:
Hush military jacket/Sunset Chaser sweatshirt/Monaco Trousers
Will keep you posted on that.
Ok, so next time I’ll post the blog about how to sort your wardrobe, which I started at the beginning of lockdown and really wish I hadn’t (the sorting of the wardrobe, not the blog post). Enjoy the sunshine x
