The rest of the spring trends, where, while kinda nice, they weren’t revolutionary.
First up florals. For spring. Groundbreaking, she said, yawning. But actually, there are some lovely pieces out there. The following amongst them.
Oliver Bonas Martha Midi Dress £75
The pics of this empire line dress don’t do it justice to be honest. But, it’s actually sold out in the blue now, they’ve even taken it off the website. I think I have managed to procure myself the last one in my size. I think. I am having it sent from a store back to the warehouse, then on to me, so I should have my grubby mitts on it by the weekend. Fingers crossed. Planning on styling it with a denim jacket and trainers. Who am I kidding, I never wear flats, but I do think that’s probably the best way to style this dress. Otherwise it will look too “lady”.
Spots. Lots of spots. Personally, I just see the brown dress from Pretty Woman, where Julia Roberts delivers the killer line “I’m just using him for sex” whilst wearing it, which is very cool, but the dress itself, is for me at least, a bit “lady”. But hey, it’s a free world, fill your boots if spots are your thing. Here is some spotty stimulation. Zara seem to be doing spots pretty well again this season, I guess spurred on from their sellout spotty dress success of last summer.
Zara Combined Polka Dot Blouse £25.99 & Zara Pleated Polka Dress £29.99
I actually really like both of the above, the blouse is a hint of Phoebe Waller-Bridge about it and I love the dress. I think they both have the potential to look stunning, but on somebody else.
Next up, neon. On your own head be it. I won’t be touching it. I think this could be one of the problems with getting older, you remember the trends the first time round. The neon trend just reminds me of gurning clubbers in bucket hats and smiley t-shirts. Approach this trend with caution. Or gurning face, your call.
Mmm, trouser suits. Back in my comfort zone. Brightly coloured suits where everywhere too. I’ve always been a fan of a trouser suit and I’m loving the fact that it’s back. I’m in lust with all of the below. But more research needs to be done before a purchase is made.

Next time I’ll do a quick round up of accessories and then maybe look the trends in a bit more detail. Ooh, also, I’ve had a request to post about wedding outfits too. Watch this space….
