This week I am obsessed with…

The sales. Still. I know, it’s late, they’re almost over. And yet, there has been one elusive item that I have been unable to get my hands on and I can’t get over it.

Before I get in to all that, let’s go over the ground rules of sales shopping, in case you don’t know them already. Ok, so they are:

  • You must be able to think of three existing outfits that you can wear the afore mentioned purchase with.
  • Never ever EVER buy anything that doesn’t fit. That you’re going to “slim” in to. It. Just. Doesn’t. Happen.
  • Do the fashion maths. If it’s expensive, work out how often you’ll wear it, so if it’s like three times, the fashion maths just doesn’t add up. Unless it’s for a special occasion, in which case I might sign off.
  • All of the above rules are breakable.

Ok, that’s that done and dusted.

So, basically what I normally do in the sales is try to plug some holes in my wardrobe. I’ve started working in an office recently (more of which in the next post) and I’m looking at a few new items for my new “back to work wardrobe”. So this is what I’ve bought. So far.

Ok, so admittedly the sandals aren’t for the office – they’re to replace a pair that I trashed in the summer. Also, the wide leg trousers are to lounge round/travel in. From left, Hush glitter knitted hoodie now £60, Mint Velvet Georgia stone flatforms (sold out as well), Hush side stripe trousers now £45 and Mint Velvet Callie chalk ankle boots now £59.

So the item that I’m checking the website for every day (ok, sometimes more than that. When I say I’m obsessed, I’m not kidding) are shown below. They currently have them in all sizes apart from mine. I think these would be really useful to go with a variety of outfits in my existing wardrobe. Which slots in nicely with my sales ground rules listed above.

Boden Elystan Ankle Boots – Navy Metallic were £150 now £90

I’ll keep you posted on how I get on with the purchase of these.

So coming up next, is my new work wardrobe angst.
